A Child Called "It" is about a boy that has been going through child abuse from the age of 8. Dave, the victim, would be badly beaten by his alcoholic mother everyday for no reason. His father tries to help Dave by giving him food and warmth, but every time he does he gets yelled at by the mother. Dave would live in the basement and have to wear torn clothes everyday to school. When you start reading this book you will already feel bad for Dave. I would recommend this book for strictly teens and adults. The genre is realistic fiction, it was based in California and was published in 1995.
This book sounds really depressing. Thanks for telling us about it.
